AANMELDEN

Tournament Setup

The event is organized for players who are familiar with the game and is not an introductory tournament.

With this we try to reduce our biggest challenge: 'time'.

Number of players

Maximum 4 players per game. In a situation of unequal number of applicatants, tables of 3 are formed.

Number of games

All participants play three full games. Points are earned based on the final result of each game.

Point allocation

Players earn points based on their final position in a game. The winner receives 5 points, the second position receives 3 points, the third position 2 points, and the fourth position 1 point. Points from all games are aggregated, so winning 3 games results in 15 points.

Tie breakers

The first tiebreaker takes into account the strength of the players’ opponents during the tournament by calculating the total amount of points of all opponents the player met. The second tiebreaker is the players’ average amount of victory points per generation. This is calculated by dividing the sum of victory points over 3 games by the sum of generations over 3 games.

Points ina 3 player game

In the case of a 3-player game, a virtual 4th player is added with an amount of points equal to the average points of all players. If a player leaves the tournament before finishing 3 games, then their points are considered equal to the average points of all players, In case the actual points of the player who left are higher than the average points of all players, then their actual points are used.

Table allocation
While the table seating in round 1 is random, in round 2 and 3 we strive to place participants from a similar skill range at one table. In case two or more players are tied in ELO-ranking after 3 rounds, the tiebreaker is the average amount of victory points scored per generation (over 3 games). To be part of the final ranking and related prizes, it is mandatory to play all 3 rounds.

Prizes

The top three participants will receive big prizes. But no one goes home empty-handed. The prizes will be announced in the run-up to the tournament.

Gane Rules

We use the official rules of the game, but make some adjustments for the duration of the game.

The most important rules and/or adjustments are set out below.

The base game is played with the Preludes 1 expansion. Round 1 is played on Tharsis, round 2 on Elysium and round 3 on Hellas. The special promo 'Floyd Contiunuum' is allowed.

Each player starts with 0 production. We use Corporate Era cards.

Drafting is only applied in the 'Research Phase'.

This means that the first 10 project cards will NOT be drafted.

After 2.5 hours of playing time, a final signal sounds, completing the current turn.

Then the game ends and the final count starts.

In case of a tie, the player with the most money wins (after the last production round has taken place). If there is still a tie after this, money production is considered. In the rare event of a permanent tie, the highest production of steel, titanium, plant, energy or heat is considered in order.
